Apple to host Q4 2015 earnings call on October 27

Posted September 29th, 2015 by Support

Apple has scheduled its Q4 2015 earnings call for Tuesday, October 27. The call is set to take place 2 PM PT/5 PM ET, and audio from the call will be streamed on Apple’s website.

On its previous Q3 earnings call, Apple reported that it had sold 47.5 million iPhones, 10.9 million iPads, and 4.8 million Macs for a profit of $10.7 billion. Last quarter’s report also marked the first quarter to include Apple Watch sales, but, as per its stated policy, the company didn’t report any hard sales numbers for its entry into the wearable space.

Earlier today, Apple reported that it had sold more than 13 million iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models in the first three days worldwide. That means a new record for initial iPhone sales, and we should get much more information during the company’s Q4 call.

As always, iMore will be here covering the conference call as it happens, so be sure to keep it locked here on October 27 for all of the highlights.

To help alleviate concerns, Apple has updated the company’s Privacy Policy on the official website with more details on how it handles your data. Apple wants you to believe it takes privacy concerns seriously, as do the other major tech companies. More information has come to light that is used against said parties to keep them in check when it comes to collecting (and storing) data from customers who use their products and services.

As spotted by TechCrunch, Apple has added more information to the section of its site, which now covers both iOS 9 and OS X. There are also additional sections located on various web pages for the different services and features Apple offers to consumers. Better still, everything is presented more user-friendly format.

Various apps are also touched upon, including the News app, Health and Fitness, as well as Spotlight Suggestions. Then you have the whole Apple Maps utilizing generic device identifiers as opposed to your Apple ID. It’s quite the read. Should you be concerned with exactly what’s being absorbed from your hardware, you’ll definitely want to check out some of the information now available on the site.

We previously took a good look at Apple’s stance on privacy and security, but how do you feel when using your new iPhone 6s? Are you happy with how Apple communicates exactly what the company requires from you to effectively use services and features, not to mention how your data is stored in the cloud?

Google‘s annual Nexus event on Tuesday will take place in San Francisco, but you can tune in from the comfort of your couch or desk.

The company is expected to unveil its new line of Nexus phones, the latest version of Android, and perhaps a few surprises, like the rumored second-generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio.

The new smartphones could be called Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, manufactured by LG and Huawei, according to recent reports. A leaked image in August featured what was assumed to be an LG Nexus with a fingerprint sensor under the camera. If the reports are true, the LG’s Nexus will have a 5.2-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor and 2,700 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery. Huawei has never made a Nexus phone, but its version is said to be slightly bigger with a 5.7-inch QuadHD display, a Snapdragon 820 processor and 3,500 mAh battery. Read more…

The document presented at the inquiry is an internal memo from Greyhound Australasia, one of the industry’s governing bodies. “This industry is responsible for the unnecessary deaths of anywhere between 13,000 and 17,000 healthy greyhounds a year,” the document stated Read more…
